Bankstown-fusion cuisine: a sensational Spring treat for the tastebuds
Tantalise your tastebuds at the Bankstown Bites is Back! food festival on September 23.
Bankstown's diversity will be the feature of the festival, with cuisine on offer from all corners of the world. As well as a variety of food stalls, there'll be cooking demonstrations at 11am, 1pm and 3pm with Bankstown-fusion cuisine on show. Celebrity chefs include home-grown funny man and MC for the day, Vince Sorrenti, (who'll be cooking his mum's secret ragout recipe) and local celebrity Sous Chef, Tony Chayna from Platform One restaurant located at the Bankstown Sports Club.
Free Bankstown Discovery Tours will be run throughout the day, taking culinary tourists on a journey to Asia and the Middle East via local grocery stores and restaurants, with explanations of menus and their ingredients.
And there won't just be food - entertainers will stimulate your imagination and your funny bone including roving street performers, cultural, lion and break dancers; and folk and jazz bands, including Psycho Zydeco.
With over 60 languages spoken in the local area and residents representing 32 countries, the best tastes of the Bankstown melting pot will come to life - this festival will be a fusion of taste, colour, sound and aroma.
Be at the Bankstown City Plaza, between 10am - 4pm to have the meal-time of your life.
