Come to Bankstown Bites and let Vince Sorrenti cook his ragout for you!

Bankstown Bites is Back! on Saturday 23 September from 10am-4pm in the open-air Bankstown City Plaza.

Bankstown's food festival, Bankstown Bites is Back! will include the popular free food tours based around Vietnamese and Arabic recipes, local entertainment and food-based performance art,  foods from around the world - and for the first-time, celebrity cooking demonstrations.

Vince Sorrenti (former Bankstown boy) is MC for the day and a Celebrity Chef  sharing the secret to his mum's ragout.   "I'm excited about going back to my roots in Bankstown, and back to my cooking roots too," said Vince Sorrenti.  "Come to Bankstown Bites and let me cook my ragout for you!"

Vince Sorrenti will be cooking at 1pm, and local celebrity chef Tony Chayna, from Bankstown Sports Club's Platform One, is cooking marinated Japanese scallops and his "Lazy Lasagne" at 11am and braised Wagyu Beef Cheek and grilled Murray River Yabbie at 3pm.

Free Food Tours: Walking Discovery Tours will leave the Plaza at 10am, 12 noon, and 2pm offering a practical guide to shopping and preparing food.

Food: Speciality foods on the day include Arabic coffee, French crepes, Indian cuisine, Yum Cha, Peruvian cuisine, the Chilli Factory, Moon cakes, Turkish Gosleme and good old chicken and chips Bankstown style - even books on food are available through Bankstown's Library.

Art: At midday a billboard-sized photo mural titled: Faces of Bankstown, will be unveiled.  It features over 100 local people as photograhed by Artist Joanne Saad.  This is a Bankstown Council project supported by Bankstown Youth Development Service and Arts NSW.

Entertainment: Premier zydeco band Psycho Zydeco, break dancers Hybrid Formz, roving street performers, roving 'food' rappers, Lion and Dragon dances, Vovinam martial arts demonstration, plus Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese, Hulanesian, and Greek dancers.
