Q. How much does it cost to be a part of this event?
This is a FREE community event. All rides, activities and entertainment are free of charge. For those taking part in the Discovery Food Tours there is a $5 booking fee, per person, per tour, payable on the day.
Q. How do I register for the Discovery Food Tour
Bookings for the 10.30am and 2pm tours can be made by phoning 9707 9891. Registration's for the 12.30pm tour can be made at the event only. The Discovery Tour Registration Desk will be located next to the information stall.
Q. Where is the event?
The event is located at the bus interchange on South Terrace- Bankstown, right next to the train station. There will be signs to direct you from the station and local parking areas to the event.
Q. When is the event?
Bankstown Bites will be open from 10:00am – 3:00pm Saturday 30 July 2011.

Q How do I get there?
We encourage you to use public transport to get to the event. Buses and trains both run to within 100 meters of the event. You can also get to Bankstown car and there are several parking stations close by.
Q. Is this area accessible for prams and wheelchairs?
In organising this event we have made every effort to ensure the area is accessible and while the event space is accessible, some shops on the Discovery Tours may not be.
Q. Is Halal available?
Yes, some of our local shops and stalls will be able to provide halal products.
Q. Who is the celebrity chef?
This years chef is Darren Simpson.
Q. Can I do the tour without the guide?
We encourage you to visit all the great shops that are part of the tour and also those listed in the food lovers guide which is available at the Information Stall. Only registered participants of the Discovery Tours will receive samples at the tour stops.
Q. Can I bring my dog?
Because of the hygiene risks of animals near food we would ask that you do not bring pets to the event.
Q. Will alcohol be sold at the festival?
Alcohol will not be sold at the festival site. However, there are two selected Discovery Food Tours that offer participants alcoholic samples. You must be over 18 to participate in these specific tours.
Q. Will there be bike racks at the event?
There are permanent bike racks outside the train station entry, which is essentially the beginning of the event site. These can be utilised by the public attending the festival.
