Huey's Bankstown Cooking Adventure

Featured in the Thursday 12 July 2007 edition of the Canterbury - Bankstown Express

For those who love a good tantalising trek through the tastes of the edible world - this is for you!

Iain 'Huey' Hewitson will travel to Bankstown to take the crowds at the Bankstown Bites food festival on a safari of the senses.

Cooking demonstrations will be held at 11.30am and 1.30pm with an amazing menu to feast your eyes on.

His menus look delicious and perfect for all taste tourists. Huey will create an artful lamb, fennel and bean salad with a lemon & parmesan dressing, complete with horseradish cream. Also on the menu is a triple treat of Salmon with 3-flavoured sauce.

A truly delectable Salmon Nicoise with anchovy mayo will delight the crowd; and Banger 'Rogan Josh' will put an adventurous twist on an otherwise ordinary ingredient.

And to end the tour of tasty treats, Huey will whip up The Original Chocolate Fondue for dessert!

Still hungry? Don't miss local star chef, Tony Chayna from Bankstown Sports Club, as he creates some wonderful dishes at 2:30pm. Back for his second year, Tony is sure to wow and woo with his truly Bankstown spin on things.

And that's not all... throughout the day, free food tours will leave at 10.30am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm. With eight different tours to choose from, you'll enjoy a unique adventure at every turn. Don't forget to visit the Bankstown Council Information booth half an hour before each tour leaves to book your place.

But wait, there's more.  To make your day truly memorable, Huey will be available for book signings at 12.30pm, with three of Huey's cookbooks available for sale at the Festival.
